| Show SI IS convention BIG SUCCESS sunday last was a big day for brigham liam city in fact for the entire county occasioned by tile the gathering of tile the sunday school officers of the dear bear r malad and box elder stakes es in n convention in this city these three three stakes are largely made up of wards v ards located within the boun boundaries boundary darl es of 0 box rider county so that every town and lia hamlet nilet had bad many represent natives in this city saturday and sunday Z the crowds commenced to arrive on aw the morning train front from the valley saturday morning and all during the day a throng of people surged through the streets of the city taking in the sights and otherwise amusing themselves until nightfall when hen the festivities tivi ties of the convention were inaugurated gu rated A bureau of information had been established by the stake sunday school board in the city council chambers where 11 II W valentine and others were located all day issuing cards to the visitors introducing them to the homes where they would bo be entertained the committee on entertainment tain ment was most successful in making arrangements for places were provided for every one who came to the convention and many homes did not receive a guest which had made preparations pa rations to care for or one or two the spirit of sociability reigned supreme and the guests were made to feel that everything they desired tor for their comfort would be promptly supplied and local bocal people went out of 0 their way to make it pleasant for the visitors thus making their own lives more pleasant and happy in the diening at 7 a basket ball game was played in the high school gym between the high school team and a picked five of sunday school workers or kers which resulted in a walkaway walk away for the sunday school at the workers gathered in tile the large assembly room on the second floor which had been beautifully decorated with the stars baars and stripes and potted plants Im InA bloom bigom where an excellent program was waa carried arri Zd out u under the direction of the box kider elder a take stake at the conclusion ot of the pro program gramp delicious fruit punch and candy were seri bened ed in the hall as the guests passed down in to the gym to participate in the social dance which concluded the evenings pleasure sunday the program as carried out Is riven below The written OR on the various JACS mit m it 0 or avery a very alch c cli ta 4 r aclei I 1 and the visitors from the general duard were unstinted lu in their compliments both ot of the excellence of the capeis and the work being done in the three thred stakes in the evening at tile the taberna tabernacle cle a most interesting pro program ram was carried out which was listened to by about twelve hundred people the numbers were singing now let us rejoice etc choir and congre continued on page three |
