By KEITH DUNCAN When the 1986 BOUNTIFUL prep football season kicked off in August, some of the talk among fans said Region Fours biggest battle would be the September 26th showcase between the Davis Darts and Bountiful Braves. Well, theres no doubt this Fridays meeting in Bountiful will be well attended, there being plenty riding on the outcome. But to classify the game as the biggest battle may be a bit premature. Tunnel visioned fans should not forget the likes of unbeaten Highland lurking around. But certainly a heap of gratitude should be extended to Davis and Bountiful for making Fridays attraction what it is, at least for the fans sake if not for the teams themselves. Both clubs enter the game having overcome or still striving to beat adversity. The 1 seasonal records they both sport and their marks in league were obtained the old fashioned way, both of them having earned what theyve got. Most teams would crumble and die with the kind of adversity the Braves have been put through. The Braves have done a fine job in blending four running backs into a suitable rotation to fill the shoes of the injured starters. Hadley and Brent Madsen have played the tailback slot while Rhette Anderson and Brian Larsen do chores at the fullback position. In putting together an offensive scheme, Bountiful hasn't changed a whole lot from the kind of package they first started out with. In Wall's own words, Really, I think a team hurts themselves by changing too many things. Were sticking with the stuff we started the season with.
