Show JULY 8, 1986 Society You can wrap up the holiday spirit when you give a dozen roses made of ribbon. Make them into a bouquet, use them to decorate a package, sew them on to a sweatshirt, use them to trim a fabric box or add them to any- Duke-Lambour- ne thing you can think of. Heres how to make them, from the experts at The American Home Sewing Association in conjunction with C.M. Offray & Son, Inc.: Materials: 1 yd. of satin ribbon. Thread to match. Needle. Note: Size of the rose is determined by width of the ribbon used. How-to- : Roll one end of the ribbon six turns to make a tight tube. Stitch at the base to secure. Now fold top edge of unwound ribbon downward and toward you so it is parallel to the tube and folded edge is at a 45 degree angle. Roll tube across fold, loosely at top and tightly at base. Tack. Reluctantly, she decided that she would have to convert the land to other use. Consequently, she is in the process of dividing her land into homesites. Although their own children were taken from them in a tragic accident, Emily is not lonely. She is favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews, and best friend to countless people with whom she has maintained friendships through the years. She and her one surviving sister. Belle Aamodt and her husband, spend much time together remembering the past and keeping up with the present. It seemed fitting that the community should honor one of its generous citizens whose years have brought her wisdom and whose memories include many good times, such as her leadership in various LDS church auxiliaries, and who still has so much love and concern for her family, her church, her friends, her town. Coming to Farmington to Kaysville some 56 years ago as the bride of Rulon Barnes, Emily has lived here ever since. Rulon became nationally honored during his adult life for his fine, prize winning dairy herd. Emily was always at his side the family home following the death of his parents. On their large family farm, Rulon raised feed crops for his dairy herd as well as to sell.
