KAYSVILLE -- - Burton Elementary first graders showed off their original Easter hats at an annual Easter parade held Friday, March 28. The youngsters paraded through the school while parents and other students observed the colorful display of spring. The team continued to improve on their winning record by placing fourth in team sweepstakes. In three short years the team has moved from 24th place to fourth place in state competition. 4-- THE SWEEPSTAKES scores were: Bingham High, first with 72 points: Orem High, second with 71 points: West Jordan High, third with 64 points: Davis High School, fourth, with 62 points. Individual performances in- cluded: Debate, superior ratings, : Jon Dubois Jeoff Erazier-ScoLincoln Golden, Douglas Debate, superior. THE DAVIS Debate team now hopes to cap off a fine year by qualifying several people for the National Debate Tournament that will be this summer in Tulsa. Steve Lore and Chris Watkins. KAYSVILLE Seven finalists from Davis High will face the judges on Wednesday. April 2. at West High School for the final round in the S t e ling Scholar Awards program. The 12 state Sterling Scholars will be announced on a telecast at 7 p.m. on KUED. Channel 7 on Wednesday. April 9. MANY PEOPLE have contri i buted to the success of the students from Davis. Kathryn Skinner, faculty adviser, praised the administration for their help along with Davis High School faculty department heads who have helped the students with questions in specific areas.
