Pleasant City Chief of Police according to an announcement made this week by the city council. Chief Hallows, a native of Payson, Utah, brings a wealth of talent to the new position which has been vacant since the resignation several months ago of the former chief, Roger Christensen. Chief Hallows is a graduate of one of the best police training academies in the country, the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Academy and the California Highway Patrol Academy. He has also attended several California Colleges including the University of California at Chico. He has participated in various seminars and has teaching credentials to teach law enforcement in California Calif, schools. During the past 15 years as a law enforcement officer, he has served as a training officer with the Englewood Police Dept, the California Highway Patrol and Chico City Police Department. The new police chief is a talented musican and sings and plays guitar. He especially enjoys doing light opera and arrangements. He held a lead role in the semi-classic- al Promised Valley Playhouse performance while in California. He also enjoys being in the mountains and photography. Active in the LDS Church, Chief Hallows has been involved in Scout work and was on the LDS Stake committee which lesson organized plans. He was a ward music director and choir president. He has also taught Sunday School and has served as a stake missionary. He and his wife, Leith, are the parents of three children, Gayle 13, Stephen 10, and Jonathan 3. Mrs. Hallows is a talented artist and does oil paintings, sketches and other forms of creative art. She has held several assignemnts in the LDS Church and has taught various classes and the Primary home-teachin- g lessons. . The couple both enjoy working with and teaching disabled children and both enjoy flying.
