Pleasant Pyramid Pee-we- State tourney good enpenence; Hawks look to Rent school year North Sanpete's Jorgensen and Barry Olsen will probably see more action in the next season. Playing their last game for the Hawks were Dave Blackham, John Grosvenor and Griff Nuttall. Robert Sorensen the other senior has been out due to an illness. The Hawks played one of their best games against the Richfield Wildcats on Thursday afternoon but the Region Seven Champs hung on and defeated the valiant Hawks Coach Ericksen said the Hawks played well and the scoring was balanced. Rich Gundry led the Hawks with 13 followed by Ted Seely with 12. Dave Blackham picked up 11, Kevin Jensen 10, Chad Larsen 4 and Lvnn Rasmussen added 2. After forging ahead Richfield Hawks dropped both games in the Class State Tournament held last Thursday and Friday in Salt Lake City, but Coach John Ericksen said he was already looking forward to next year." Coach Ericksen said his Hawks gained valuable experience inspite of the losses and that the team played well. The Hawks will be in good position next year as the team will sport eight returning and will be backed up by some talented Sophomores and there are some good prospects coming in from ninth grade. starters Lynn Four Rasmussen, Ted Seely, Rick Gundry and Chad Larsen will be back as well as Kevin Jensen who has seen a lot of action this year. Ron Lamb, Clark 2-- 62-5- held a ten point lead throughout most of the game even though the Hawks put up a gallant effort to undermine their efforts. The Hawks narrowed the gap but womewhat at the half the Wildcats moved ahead again their in the third period widest margin of the game. Weiby Jensen, 69" . led the Wilcat scoring with 15. In Friday afternoons play, the Delta Rabbits captured a win at the expense of North Sanpete. Coach Ericksen said the Hawks did not play as well as they were capable of and were unable to chip off the early lead picked up by the Rabbits who were hitting an impressive 60 percent from the field. The Rabbits held a 20-- lead at the first quarter buzzer, upped it at halftime, and zoomed to to a point spread when the third period ended. Blackham lead the Hawk scoring with 23 followed by Rich Gundiw with 14. Chad Larsen tanked 11 and Ted Seelv put in 5. Rasmussen picked up 5, Jensen had 4, Lamb and Nuttall each had 2 to round out the Hawk scoring. Mrs. Dorcas Erickson is recovering at her daughters home in Salt Lake City from a fall which resulted in hip surgery. Fairview Scout Troops joined with the other troops of the Stake for an outing on Saturday to the Scout Camp near Hardware Ranch ouside Hyrum, Utah. Mrs. Emma Evans spent four days last week visiting with her Mr. and daughter and Mrs. Rex (Maxine) Turpin in Orem. Mr. and Mrs. Evan (Nancy) Reusch spent the weekend with her son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. Eldon (Irene) Stewart and children Alma, Audrey and Chrystal in Tooele. The occasion was to celebrate the birthday of ,Alma on March 10. The two families attended a High Priests meeting and turkey dinner given by the High Priests for the Stake on Saturday.
