Show NS meets Emery in round robin tourney Local man The North Sanpete's Hawks will clash with the Emery Spartans in the second game of the traditional Bound Robin Tournament set for this weekend and next at Richfield, Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. Manti will meet Hurricane in the opening game which will get underway at 2 p.m. It has been three years since the Hawks made the touranment and the spirits are high at North Sanpete. The Hawks barely edged by the Spartans in two games played previously this year and are going for all the marbles tomorrow afternoon. Coach Ericksen said the Emery team has greatly improved during the season and the Spartans proved that last weekend when they upset the Delta Rabbits, The upset was the first in Region play for the Rabbints who are already eligible for the State Tournament coming up March 11. The Falcons traveled to Gunnison to take on the Bulldogs JV on Feb. 17. The Gunnison crew fought hard to hold the Falcons to 9 points while they scored 10 in the first quarter. In the second period, both teams fought it out coming up with 9 points each with the half ending with the Falcons trailing The Falcons held the Bulldogs to 8 points in the third period while they picked up 14 giving them a 32 to 27 lead at the buzzer. In a fourth quarter rally the Bulldogs outscored the Falcons 19 to 17 but the Falcons held on to take home the victory 49 to 46. Although not taking any shots until near the end of the game, Coach Ericksen said Rick Gundry and Ted Seely did a fantastic job on the floor. Henrie led the Richfield scoring with 19 followed by the Brown brothers, Scott and Ron who had 12 and 11 respectively. In other Region Seven action last week, Emery upset Delta 72 to 57, Juab handed another upset to Manti 75 to 71, San Juan clobbered Moab 3 and South Sevier edged past Millard Mt. Pleasant 72-4- 56-4- 9.
