Pleasant Pyramid Page Six FAIRVIEW Yichman Dr. D. to speak on Wasatch campus Something different is about to on happen the Wasatch Dr. Academy Campus Feb. Dick Wichman, the director of Cameron House in Chinatown will be on the W.A. campus and will be the key element in the "Living Issues program. The schedule during the week with included to Dr. Wichman attempting stimulate thought about personal life issues. He is offering his ideas on the value of being a Christian in the present world. In addition, he is planning to be available all during the week to talk to students who would like to share their thoughts with him. Dr. Wichman has traveled all over the Pacific coast giving talks and is now in demand. His work in San Franciso also deserves commendation Cameron House was opened in 1874 as a shelter for young Chinese girls to keep them from enforced prostitution. Since then it has evolved into a center for and the improvement development of conditions in the Chinatown area. This improvement involves counseling as well as training. Dr. Wichman has provided many interesting discussions during the week and students will enjoy two more days of Living Issues. He who has truth in his heart need never fear the want of persuasion on his tongue. A birthday party for Tiffani' Ann Giles was given at her home on her birthday on the 20th of Jan. There were fun games played and refreshments served to those who were present. The boys and girls who were there were Laurie Marie Gable, Cindy Larsen, Wendy Anderson, Jessica Seely, Nathan and Benjamin Miner, Russell Kinsman, Steven Anderson, Mark Madsen, Scott Gwilliam, Page and Perry Jones, Lewis Cox, Bradley Bench, Joe Shelley, Rae Ann Shelley, Andrew Bench, Angie Ray, Janet Larsen, Jennifer Holder, Kristen Mower, Alex Nelson, Anjeanette Hoskins. Parents present were Margaret Gable, Mary Nelson and baby Julie, Katie Ray, Ruth Ann Shelley, Kathy Larsen and and son Jimmy. That evening Tiffanis grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Johnson, and Mr. and Mrs. Russell F. Giles and her Aunt Margaret and Laurie came to wish her a happy birthday. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roi Giles, and brother, Patrick, also enjoyed the party with her. The Young Married group had their social this month at the home of George and Peggy Bench. It was a Waffle Party and the group enjoyed toppings such as boysenberry, blueberry, strawberry, raspberry, syrup, whipped cream, ice cream, nuts, honey butter and many more on their waffles! Games were also played. The labor room, which used to be rather dull is now done in bright orange colors, which should enlighten the spirits of any mother-to-be- . After delivery, the mother can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the patient room done in shades of lavender. The Young Homemakers have been actively involved in a number of community projects throughout the year. The work at the hospital was one such project and required a lot of work by the girls. Wayne Ross, Hospital Administrator, approved the project and aided in getting supplies. Helen Lund and Susan Day were committee chairmen in of the making charge arrangements for the project. They spent four days in Fairview visiting with the Coxs. On Saturday evening Kurt Cox and Mitzi, his wife, from Provo, and Kathy Jensen, a daughter, and husband, Wesley and family from ML Pleasant, came to the Cox home to enjoy a family dinner before Mr. and Mrs. Cox took the Melgaards back to Salt Lake City to take the plane back Hall.
