Show J University women meet Social Events The Sanpete Branch of the American Association October of University Women enjoyed a potluck dinner at the home of Arlea Howell in Ephraim on October 17th. Guests of the group were Marie Beacham, Donna Dorothy Brunger, Stoddard, Sandra Lanier, Claire Dockstader, Sarah Dockstader, Elizabeth Cox, and Martha Keeler. Former member were the hostesses. Albert Andrei of Manti provided a memorable program with poetry and slides of Belgium and Sanpete County. Last year this Branch won the State Division award for the largest percentage increase in f of Katie Vice-Preside- Mrs. Clifford Jones is surrounded by some of the handmade articles she has made over the years. will continue as president. Ted Mower conducted the evening. Mr. Ted Madsen was the speaker, and he related experiences that he had had as Stake President of the Concord California Stake for 10 years. An Mrs. Clifford Jones keeps busy with handiwork over many years Surrounding Mrs. Clifford Jones are the products of her industry and decorative ability. Mrs. Jones has many and varied talents which range from quiltto making upholstering and refinishing old but still beautiful furniture. Mrs. Jones has made around 35 afghans, one of which is displayed in the photo. Besides afghans, she has made the most exquisite quilts with a variety of colors and patterns, many of which she has designed herself. Her children and grandchildren have been the recipients of many of her quilt, but she has managed to retain several herself and keeps them in her upstairs bedroom along with a display of dolls wich she also designs and makes herself. She has some Raggedy ann dolls, lamp dolls beautifullydressed by her, and some "granny dolls which she has completely dressed from the designing of he dress and granny glasses to the attractive hair-doInside her upstairs bedroom she also has a very old crib filled with the most creative stuffed animals which Mrs. Jones has made.
