Dutson Marge Barton children than 1 Now that 1 have more great-gran1 and have children put together, often 1 have had in shaping the wonder how much influence life style of the members of these different families. Even though these family members live in so many different parts of our nation, w e love them dearly and hope they are good citizens and doing their best to help build a better world. One way we can still have some influence on their lives, is to write to them as often as possible and let them know we love them and are praying for their welfare, showing concern for each member and letting them feel our love and devotion to each family member. Life styles have changed so radically during my life String quartet to perform d grand-childre- n International Relations 3k Kevin Kesler wonderful life. doesn't take gadgets to make a happy life, but it takes a lots of love, dear, sweet parents and grandparents who make you feel loved and important. They tell you wonderful stories about foreign lands and who have homes surrounded by beautiful flowers, delicious fruit trees, and food fit for a king, food that has been cooked by real cooks and not baked in a large bakery where they fill it with preservatives that entirely change the flavor of the product. My grandmother Hanson was Danish and I can still remember those delicious baked hams, smoked in their own smoke houses, and the flavor of that apple wood, very different from the water soaked hams on the market today; her home made sausage stuffed in skins, in fact every kind of food possible was of superior flavor. We were always welcome and never went to her house in our lives without eating such delicious food. 1 always loved to stay with my grandparents, and I have tried to be that kind of grandparent myself. 1 am sure no grandchildren ever had a better grandfather than Erven was to our grandchildren. When they were small and stayed with us, Erven always got up early and helped them dress and get ready for breakfast. He always let them help him feed the chickens and do his chores with him. Then each child took hold of one finger and went with him to the drug store each morning. He would bring them back to the corner, crossing the street with them when he thought they were too small to watch for cars. They all still love him and talk of the good times they had with him, although he has been gone for nearly eighteen years. Bob Paxton is our youngest grandchild and although he is on a mission, he still remembers and loves his grandpa Day, small as he was when Erven was with work-savin- g us. If we could just convince this generation that it is not houses, furniture, cars, gadgets, luxuries, that make a happy home, but love, service and really caring and doingfrur very best to make a better world, that really is important, we could close all of our prisons and stop all of the wars between the nations of Kesler has aca position as an cepted Mechanic Agriculture Consultant in the Egypt Major Cereals Improvement Project in Cairo, Egypt.
