Hay Prices for 1980 According to reports from our Hay Market News people, John Crane and Don Carter, hay prices for this year should be strong. Reports indicate that California did not get their last winter clipping and hay that was down in the Imperial Valley got rained on, so demand should remain strong. Farmers in the Parowan, Cedar area indicate they are going to ask $80 a ton straight through for this years crop. Anyway, until the next cutting in California which will be the end of March or early April. Hay will continue to be in pretty good have had some indications here that some of you farmers would like to form a hay marketing association to keep a stronger front in selling and get a better hand on quality, so that a person will know whether 1 he has dairy hay and what options he has for selling to local and out of State brokers. If you think we need a hay marketing association, give us a call, or drop us a note to Box 568, Fillmore, We Utah 84631.
