At Sacrament Meeting Sunday, the name of Janet Carol Anderson was presented as a member of our ward. She is the wife of La Don Anderson and is surely welcomed. The family of Garth and Carolyn Riply of Salt Lake City presented the numbers: following talks by sons Matt and Rip; songs by daughters Sunday. Chaunte and Julie, then a solo by the latter. Talks were given by the parents. n They and the Don family are friends. Garth and Don were missionary companions in Louisiana. Recent guests of Bill and Ulala Mace wete Allen Dean Boardman, his wife Janice and two children of Reno. They spent two nights with the Maces. The families have been friends for many deer enjoying years, In hunting together. between their visiting with Bill and Ulala, the Boardmans also enjoyed their visits in Fillmore with Zina Hunter, a friend of many years. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Swallow went to Idaho, where they were really pleased with the wonderful reunion of the John and Eliza Nichols Jackson family, parents of Florence. They spent from June 7 to 12 in Idaho. The reunion was held at the Jackson family home at Archer. Ninety immediate family members were in attendance. She and her husband Jack and their granddaughter, Cathy Moore, went to Denver, where they met at the home of Phyllis sister Nell and her husJim band. Keeney. Joining them were sisters Jackie Masters, Ollie Davis, and sister-in-laFrances Moore. three After spending days in Denver. Jack and Cathy flew to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to spend some time with the Murrays son James, his wife Susie and two children. Phyllis said every minute of the time in Denver was exciting, visiting old mining towns, saw people panning, going to the museum, and viewing the beautiful scenery and country. Fauntella Robison and her sister Rose Rogers accompanied Fauntella's and daughter Estelle and Jess Bennett of Holden, to the Manti Temple June 20 to go through the temple with their niece. Debra Anderson of Provo, who will enter the mission home July 20 prior to her going on an LDS mission to New Zealand. Debra's cousin, Norma Lee Anderson Adams, and Debras "best girl friend, also of Provo, went through the temple with her when she received her own endowDebra is the ments. granddaughter of the late Sarah Ann (better known as Anderson, Sadie) sister to Fauntella and Rose. Debra grew up in Pennsylvania, where her parents live. She graduated from college there before coming to Provo, where she has lived foi two years. Her very dear girl friend also is from Pennsylvania, where the girls grew up together. Her friend is married and has four children and lives in Provo. Fauntella says this was surely a joyous occasion. On June 20. he was admitted to the Fillmore Hospital. We wish him the best in returning to good health. He has had visits from many of his children and grandchildrne. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Brinkerhoff were guests of Carols parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Jackson. They came especially to visit Jim's grandfather, Brinkerhoff. The design for Jim Baldwin's headstone was drawn by his grandson Don Keel, who used his granddad's old fiddle as a model for a violin on a bed of ivy for the pattern. Many old timers in Fillmore will remember the dances in the Old when Jim Statehouse played his fiddle along with Ed Brunson and Delbert Clothier. Jim Baldwin was one of the last of the real stonemasons, having learned the trade from his father. Nathan B. Baldwin, who helped build the Old Statehouse. Jim built several red in houses sandstone Fillmore, quarrying the rock out by hand in Chalk One of Creek Canyon. these is the house which he built for his daughter. Elva B. Coulter. In Meadow there are seven approximately sandstone stately red houses which he built of stone from the mouth of Meadow Creek Canyon. The homes owned Pearson, by Stanley Milton Allison Stott. Bcckstrand, Lloyd Robison. Cal Stewart, Junior Bond, and Rodney Stott are his handiwork. Nathaniel Baldwin was born and raised in Fillmore. Early in life, he showed the signs of the creative ability which was to make him famous as an inventor.
