The phone call, received at the hospital by nurse Albaugh from the man in California, stated that his father, Joe Vink was in Fillmore, presumbly at a Motel, Mr. Vink may have been sick enough to die. City Police Chief Ken Hare was called immediately, starting the search of motels. It was the regular night for the Posse meeting. As most members were coming to meeting, they joined in the search. A motel room was located containing suit case, clothes, that presumably belonged to the missing man. Minutes later, Lyn Williams who had been monitering the police band, saw a man walk hurriedly past F ergs Fina.
