Show National Newspaper Week is Oct. 10 to Oct. 16 climaxed by National Newspaperboy Day Oct. 16. David Williams, one of 270 paperboys for The Daily Herald, is shown here delivering the newspaper to Mrs. Myrtle Robey. He began delivering papers four years ago and wasthefirst Herald carrier to qualify for the honor roll for 12 consecutive months. Hehasan averageof 60 customers on his route, one of whom is Mrs. Robey. She is 76 years old and recalls when her husband wasone of the first printers of the newspaper while it was publishing at a place on Center Street where the Paramount Theater is now located. Her son has also worked as a printer for The Daily Herald about the timeit changed overto theoffset printing system a couple years ago. rs.
