Pleasant Grove Nutrition Nationally Subject of ‘U’ Talk Dr. Jean Mayer, chairman of the 1969 White House Conference on Food, Nutrition and Health, will discuss the developmentof a national nutrition policy at a Frontiers of Science lecture Monday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m, in Spencer Hall Auditorium. The free public lecture is sponsored by the Departmentof yee. A leading expert in the field of nutrition, Dr. Mayer will outline events which dictate the development of a policy eliminati uutrition in the United States, insuring a safe and varied food supply, including nutrition in preventive medicine, particularly as it pertains to cardiovascular aSes. Dr. Mayer will discuss the changes in the national food supply and in the social changes which have produced a society in which “many are overfed while a substantial minority is underfed or illfed because of poverty.” Dr. Mayer is currently a professor of nutrition at Harvard University. Making the trip were Kent Rowley, a counselor at Lincoln Junior High School in Orem, Ramona Morris, a counselor and social worker at Provo High School, and George Harrison, a teacher at Pleasant Grove Junior High School in Pleasant Grove. All reside in Orem. Harrison, in addition to being a teacher, is an Air Force Reserveofficer and an Academy liaison officer for American Fork High School.
