Show Internal Revenue NotSelling Confidential Tax Information WASHINGTON — Rep Laurence J. Burton, R-Utah, was informed today by Commissioner Randolph W Thrower, assistant commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, that the IRS is not selling confidential tax return information to business companies for mailinglists. During the Ist World War, he served as a private in the Headquarter’s Company of the 13th Field Artillery of the 4th Division and participated in the Aisne-Marne, Vesle River, St. Mihiel and Mense-Argonne campaigns. After the Armistice, he returned to Idaho and graduated from the University of Idaho in 1925. He entered medical school and received his M. D. degree from the University of Chicago in 1931. His internship was spent in the Los Angeles County Hospital prior to »ntering private practice in 1935. He later served at the Veterans Administration in St. Cloud, Minn., and at Ft. Lyon, Colo. In 1942, he entered the U. S. Army Medical Corps and eventually served as an assistant surgeon with a por- table surgical hospital team in the South west Pacific Theater. Following the Second World War, Dr. Doty became a resident in radiology at Duke Hospital before taking up private practice in Santa Barbara, Calif. In 1948, he was integrated into the RegularArmy with a rank of Major, serving as a radiologist and pathclogist until the Korean War when he was place in command of a multi-hospital logistical headquarters on the Austrian border.
