The Lynns started out about 13 years ags with Fred Lynn of Mona and his son Wesley. They worked throughout the area constructing several ward and stake buildings for the LDS Church and then served on a work mission in New Zealand. Five years ago they organized the Lynn Construction with Fred and Wesley as partners and another son Brice as the Junior Partuer. Now the third son, Kirk, is working his way up in the company. Three other Mona men and two Nephi men make up the crew end each man specializes in cne particular phase of the work.At the present time the father, Fred, and his wite are serving another work mission in Samoa. The Lynns are building a 2500 square foot warehouse for storage of tools, equipment, and supplies. A $30,000 and $20,000 home in Nephi are nearing completion as well as other smaller ones in the area. They figure the volume of their work is divided aboutequa!to one-half residential and one-half commercial buildings. More New Homes GrantJ. Nielson, homebuilder of Springville is also building four homes in Nephi at the presenttimeandintends to build more as the market demands. This building pian is under the direction of the F.H.A. 235 program that subsidizes individual home ownership. Mr. Nielson feels that this housing programfills an urgent need at this time for young couplestrying to start outin life and also for older people who have never been able to own a home. Mr. Nielson has been in the building business since 1947 and has built homes from Tremonton to St. George. He plans to build around 75 homes from the Provo to Nephi area this year. Twenty Five men are em- ployed. Although Nephi does not have a high income group of people, and therefore is not a large building area, thefirm feels that the trend of buildingatthis time will add muchto the future of the community, Total manufacturing, as shown by output, is slightly above last year’s levels, principally as applied to the nonferrous metals industries. Production of food is about the same, while chemicals and petroleum products as well as apparel output, are upslightly. Cash receipts from farm marketing in the Beehive state may be slightly below 1969, the same pattern found nationally. However, the News Letter points out that the outlook is generally good in most agricultural segments. SPARKS FLY from the hot saw cutting one of Geneva’s new wide flange I-beam to length.
