Surely there is much lo “discover.”” Example — Following «< meeting at Richfieid last winter an old friend there asked for some information. ‘“‘Why don't we have mackinaw fishing somewhere else in Utah other than in Fish Lake?” Our answer was that we do,in Bear Lake. “Where is Bear Lake?’’ It straddles the Utah-Idaho border in Rich County. Many questions and answers later he allowed that this summer he was going to discover Bear Lake for himself. Couple of days ago hecalled by to say that he had doneso, that he had caught oniy one mack, that it was one of the most | i txample — Gene Snowof Salt Lake City each summertakes his little family for a campingfishing-sight seeing two weeks. A year ago now hecalled to ask suggestions of places they might go andfinally decided to discever the Fish Lake country south of Richfield. They did so, to include fishing at the lake, Johnson Valley, Mill Meadow, and UM Creek. Cameback to report great camping, fine fishing, and a memorable side trip to explore a bit in the Capital Gorge National Monument. Haveyou ever turned onto the side road that leads through Wallsburg up into the mountains and joins hiway 46 at Daniels’ Summit? Or taken a swing around the Red Cloud Loop road as you went to or from Flaming Gorge? These and numberless other side roads lead one to new sights, often isolated camping areas, and frequentgood fishing ‘n small streamsorlakes. Like most of you, in our early years we had ambitions to sée the world. That day dream quickly seemed unatainable so we decided maybe the western hemisphere. Fortune smiled on distant travel for a while and finally came the wish justto really know the whole, particularly the back country of our old homestate.
