He was born May 27, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Armond J. and Gladys C. West. He Our Dave, loving son, brother and uncle died Pagesny in his sleep on November 17th, 2003. Dave was born to Dexter and Katherine Horton on August 22, 1957. Dave was a kind, gentle, and courageous soul, loved and respected by all who knew him. He was an excellent skier, swimmer and loved fishing, taking long walks andlistening to his favorite music. Dave served in the US Army and attended Westminster College. He had a special love for kids and a love for all people. His tender heart and big smile will be missed. Dave, your family is so proud of you, we love you and wewill miss your love that you shared with us. Dave is survived by his Mom, Katherine, Sister Julie, and Brothers: Steve and wife gt Dan, Derek and wife Laura, Paul, Niece Stacey and Nephews Jeremy, Zachary and Alexander. He was preceded in death by his Dad Dexter and his brother Justin. Friends anc family are invited to a viewing held Friday from 6:30-7:30 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive. A private Funeral service will be held in honor of Dave. married Martha "Micki" Varner on March 24, 1953, prior to leaving for a tour of duty in the United States Navy. Jim was everyone’s favorite neighborhood grocer at Cozza Market for 48 years. He later retired from 8th Avenue Market in 1997. He touched many lives with his quick wit and friendly nature. He leaves behind his children; Marty ee Simar, James L. (Jolene) West, r., and Tereasa West; four grandsons, one granddaughter, and three great grandchildren that loved their appa great”; sisters Janice (Chuck) elm, and Karen (Ken) Mayne. He was preceded in death his beautiful wife, parents, and brother Bob West. Graveside services will be held Sunday, November 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Gardens, 6500 South Redwood Rd. Walter West Meadows Lindsay 1922 ~ 2003 1912 ~ 2003 Exactly three months after his 100th birthday celebration we lost a legend Tuesday morning when Stew Campbell died in Salt Lake City. Stew was born on August 18, 1903, in an era before aviation, only a few decades after handcarts and witnessed our evolution into the space and information age. He lived fully, leavin friends and acquaintances with stories of the old West, cow punching, j petii| wilderness areas, colonizing Alaska and meeting with the highest levels of American corporate and political spheres. He loved travel, the outdoors, hunting and ski- ing, and continued o's jn these pursuits until late in to his 90 s. Stew was a prolific poet, leaving many with a treasured piece. He was constantly working on a new invention or plan and wanted to leave this world a better place for his having been here. He looked forward to dancing with his friends at the Murray Arts center most Friday and Saturday nights. Stew lost Molly, his wife of 41 years, in 1983. He is survived by five of his six children, Stu, Jeff, Jim, Judy and Scott, and their spouses, Carolyn Campbell, Dennis Fuchs, Marie Roehm-Campbell, Angie Kringle, Annette Hanks, and Mary Halverson. He leaves twosisters, Mary Spencer, Kate Cornwell, sisterin-law, Norma Campbell and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed and is loved and remembered by 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, dozens of waitresses, flight attendants and dancers. Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, where the family will receive visitors Friday, Nov. 21st, from 6-8 p.m. and Sat. one hour prior to the services. Interment in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Ginger Hammond aiTS raht or wt v Ny): Born March 21, 1913 to Carl and Elma Larson of Sandy, Utah. Married Florence Henley in August 1937 and were together for 54 years until her passing in 1991. A man of prec accomplishments and deserving of huge respect. Among his many accomplishments he was given Honorable Mention All Américan Quarterback for the U of U football team. He served with the FBI for 22 years and retired in 1962. He went on to serve three terms as Salt Lake County Sheriff. Swede loved golfin and bowling and was a member o Alpine Country Club. Swede was an avid U of fan, member of the Crimson Club and a member of the U of U Old Time Athletes Assoc. Survived by a daughter Adele een Ivie of Sandy, Utah; two sons; lohn (Marsha) of Denver, Colorado; Scott of Honolulu, Hawaii; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife. A remarkable man living a full life until the age of 90. He will be missed much but forever in our hearts and minds. Worked for Meadows Dairy on Walker Lane from the time he was om years old until the dairy was sold to Hi-Land Dairy, where he then worked for 33. years. Served as scoutmaster, counselor in YMIA, in Three Elder’s Presidencies, serving as President in one. Served as ward clerk under three bishops, served a stake mission, was high bp quorum secretary, and asst. ward clerk. Loved his family, yard, home, and cabin in the mountains. Father was born April 2, 1912 to James Burt and Christine Geisler Lindsay in Liberty, Utah. Dad married Alburdice Shaw on November 12, 1937, in the Salt Lake Temple, she died on February 22, 1939. He then married Grace Kent in the Salt Lake Temple on May 7, 1943. Dad was a faithful member of The Latter-day Saints Church and served diligently in many positions. During his lifetime he was an educator, athlete, sportsman, hunter and gardener. His most avid interests were genealogy and golf. Dad loved his wife and children, nurturing them throughout his life with kindness, love, and a knowledge of the Savior. le was formally educated in Weber County Schools. He received a Bachelors degree and Masters degree in Education from Utah State University. He influenced many lives in 41 years of teaching in the Weber County School:s. Dad is survived by his wife Grace Kent Lindsay; children, Lynn W. torn Shirley (O. David) ardner, Sue Stevenson Leth (J. Interment, Liberty Cemetery, Liberty, Utah Vilate Nielsen "Together Forever" On November 20, 2003, our sweet mother Ginger Lundevall, 79, was called home. She was a beautiful, gracious woman who was loved by ei. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mom was born on June 28, 1924 in Salt Lake City to Gene and Bertha Hammond. She graduated from South High and attended Utah State University. She married Roger Lundevall in the Logan Temple Aug. 1, 1947. They spent 55 wonderful years together. Mom was active in the LDS Church where she served in many callings. Her favorite calling was teaching the Sunbeam class. She had great faith in her Heavenly Father and knew that he was watching over her. Her testimony of the gospel and love for the Savior radiated from her as she lovingly served her family and others. She endured life's =e with grace, patience, and dignity, without complaint. Mom's loves were: Dad, family, her sisters, little children, the outdoors, hot dogs, shopping, and Costco. Survived by her children, Brent Lundevall, Robynn ares and Bobbett Mower, four sisters, 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, husband, and a grandson. Nell (Tillie) 1917 ~ 2003 Pete Skordas, age 76, died from natural causes at his home in St. George on Nov. 19, 2003. Born Oct. 17, 1927, to Gust Skordas and Flora Carlson Skordas, he was raised in Rock Springs, Wyo. After graduating from high school, he and is famil moved to Salt Lake City. He married Mary Lee Ellars in 1952. They later divorced and he raised their children alone until he met and married Carol Crozier Ferguson in 1962. Pete worked hard as a truck driver to help provide for their combined family of eight children. After 37 years of marriage, Pete and Carol divorced. In 2000, he married Margaret Howell. Pete loved travel, comeing.Booting and VoRerenny -- even gh he never learned to swim. He was passionate about motorcycles, riding his Honda ere into his golden ears. He sang bass with the Mount Siympus Male Chorus as a young man and enjoyed karaoke until he died. Pete loved a cup of coffee with friends, listening to —_" Cash (whom he often resembled in dress and hairstyle), and dreamed about visiting his fathers homeland of Greece.In his late 50s, he fulfilled his lifelong Pe of becoming a pilot. He took pride in being a Democrat in Re- blican Utah, often serving as a po- r itical campaign volunteer. He was born Dec 2, 1933 in St. John, Utah to Pharis Sagers and Gladys Faith Newman Sagers. He married Merge ne Orr Deglebeck on June 18, 1993. Marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 23, 1994. Jackie was a very kind angelic man. He was fun-loving, never took things too serious and made friends easily. He never spoke an unkind word toward onyone. Jackie was a devoted husband to Margene; she completed his life together with her children. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jackie is survived by his wife, Marlene, brother and sisters, Vance etty) Sagers, Nancy (Lee) Budvarson, Valene (Sam) Curry. Vilate dedicated her life to her family. She was a hard worker and spent many days working along side her husband on their farm. They resided in their home in Taylorsville for over 50 ears. She ores traveling with her sband family and friends in their motor home. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in Prioar and Relief Society as a visiting teacher for many years. Frank Bonacci is known as the first state Italian Legislator and passed the bill that founded the College of Eastern Utah. Miss Tillie will be remembered a devout Catholic who converted several neighbors in the Avalon Drive Neighborhood. She lived next door to the Wards, Jonas and Mandy, Chad, lsack, Elena and Alexander. The social butterfly and Eveready bunny has gone on fo another place to continue her work. She was an active member of the American italian League a Life Time membership and Carbonite Ladies Club.
