Show THE CHOIR OUTING close to two hundred people gathered at th the e city park last thursday afternoon to frolic and enjoy each others company at the choir outing the meeting time had been fixed at 3 p m and when that hour arrived there was a goodly crowd present with more streaming in until 6 the first number on the program was a game ol of danish ball in which chich all who cared to participated those acquainted with the game know that its one object is to give everybody a chance to hit and run which principle was faithfully ad heared to last thursday afternoon those who did not hit the ball got hit bit by the ball and everybody ran every few minutes A 3 innings baseball game was arranged between the tenors and bassos and despite the fact that the bassos had two innings to the tenors one they were unmercifully slaughtered by the boys with the squeaky cices supper was announced at 6 and when the host had assembled at the eating place near the entrance to the park where tables and seats had been provided by the committee waitresses and waiters passed the refreshments around which consisted of bated baked beans pickles salad sandwiches strawberries cake and lemonade there was enough of everything to satisfy the multitude even to sufficient cheese sandwiches tor for those in the party of extraction after luncheon an impromptu program was rendered consisting of a speech by it L fishburn sr duette by conductor S N lee and son S norman lee the girl I 1 lett left behind flute solo grandpa john evans which was encored remarks pres W C horsley conductor S N lee and bishop brigham wright quartette ensign jensen and jensen at the conclusion ot of the program everybody turned themselves over to tho the games committee and and various sports were indulged in buchas such as hobble bobble races relay reay races tor for gentlemen and ladies and other games until that ti tired red feeling began to come creeping over each one the afternoon was a thorough success and those participating had a glorious time |
