PINED FINED FOR CRUELTY TO FISH eng lish naturalist punished Punt thed for lack of care A few meeks ago an officer of the tho society for the prevention of cruelty to animals in england noticed aa as ho was passing by a naturalists house that some dead goldfish were floating in a calobe which stood in ono one oc of tho th windows win dome making inquiries ho he dic covered that tho the waw in tho the globe had not been changed for several days knowing that this was as sufficient to cause death among the fish he made a formal charge of cruelty against tho naturalist when the case vaa as called in court he produced as a witness a professor of s musau au of natural history who testified that goldfish could not live under such conditions and that before dying they would suffer much agony the judge was evidently impressed by this tee tea for he promptly fined the naturalist 10
