The United States Air Force Announces a Proposed Final Environmental Assessment for the C-130 Complex at Hill Air Force Base, Utah The Environmental ManagementDirectorate, Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill Air Force Base (HAFB), UT, announces the availability of an Environmental Assessment (EA) and proposes a Finding Of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the construction and operation of additional workload facilities for C-130 aircraft on HAFB. The new facilities would increase the workload capacity for C-130 painting operations from 50 aircraft per year to a maximum numberof 85 aircraft per year. Increasing the C130 workload capabilities at HAFB would eliminate additional work days and extra flights required to transport the excess C-130 painting workload to a contractor in Alabama. The proposed action includes a total of 3 new hangars, a new ramp, and an area for jet engine testing. The proposed actionwill involve relocating the prefabricated metal Building 271 to construct the painting hangar, and demolishing Buiiding 267 to construct the flight test hangar. The proposed action is not expected to result in any additional employees at HAFB. Based on the findings of this EA, no significant environmental impacts are expected from construction and operation of workloadfacilities for C-130 aircraft. Therefore, a FONSI may be issued, and preparation of an Environmental impact Statement is not necessary. A copy of the documentdetailing the proposal is available for public examination at the HAFB Information Repository at the Davis County Library, Central; Branch, Layton UT, and also at the Environmental Management Directorate, 7274 Wardleigh Rd., HAFB, UT.
