Show Jun 6, 1979, Fog 4 CLEARFIELD COURIER, New Cfld. gym begins to take Fishinc shape Special to the Cowfer the thought of a brand-negymnasium at Clearfield High was only a dream for the athletic coaching staff, but now that dream is reality in the Ukes a beautiful-to-b-e sports complex for the school. . Through the latter part of 1978 and on through the winter and spring months of 1979, the new gymnasium, located just east of the old gym nasium, has bodly taken shape. A monster mountain of red brick and concrete precisely matches the rest of the school. Outgoing Clearfield High School Principal, Grant Steed, stated last Monday that completion of certain portions of the gym are expected by the time the high school football team plays this fall. Bleachers for the gymnasium arrived today. This week it is my understanding that officials of the school district will meet with the contractom to determine as dose as possible the completion date for the facility," said Steed. The new Clearfield gym is estimated to be able to seat 2,600 for sporting events. Some other features include two racquet ball courts, two A couple of yean ago, balconies, large improved lockerrooms, improved space for coaches offices, and many other new features. It was reported that a scoreboard hanging from the top of the middle of the gym would be installed, but Mr. Steed stated Monday that because of the cost, two scoreboards will be installed on either end of the gym floor. Culp Construction has headed the construction work of the sporting facility. "T ZZTcSZ, aai igi. If good NORTH FORK OGDF.N RIVER : Ftahtof good hr RBTaad Bbeeboee sleeked with RBT. CTTS. be hacked.
