Testimonial Held Lewiston Group For Missionaries Attends District A farewell testimonLewiston was held Thursday night in the Legion Meeting ial and Lewiston First ward honoring , , Hyrum, Utah, Friday, December Welchapel, don Hyer and Florin Preece who have accepted a call to fill a mission for the LDS church, and extend a welcome licme to Clair Hyer 'who has recently returned from the Western States mission. The meeting was under direction of MIA organization. Dr. J. H. Wheeler officiated. The program included: Prayer by S. R. Rogers of the bishopric; an organ solo, b Mrs. Darna Lou Bergerson; talk, H. Edwards, and Alva Boman; District Auxiliary President Mrs. Leon Pond, Mrs. Eva Wiser, Mrs. Alice Pond, Mrs. Lee Pond, Mrs. 'Valeria Pond, president; Mrs. Steve Lower, Mrs. R. A. Edwards and Mrs. Millie Cunningham. Units represented were Logan Post No. 7, Mt. Logan Post No. 110, Nibley Post No. 101, Lewiston, Garland, Tremonton, Erigham City, Wellsville, Randolph and Hyrum. Both Elder Weldon Hyer and Elder Florin Preece are graduates of North Cache high school and seminary. Weldon served over two years as air crewman in the navy and has been a' student at the USAC, majoring in interior decorating. He is the son of President and Mrs. Merl G. Hyer and will serve in the Central Atlantic states mission, with headquarters at Koanoke, Virginia. Elder Florin Preece is the son of and Florence Stock, who passed away when their son, Florin, was born. He was taken by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Stock, who raised him to manhood. He served in the army for 18 months, overseas in Japan. He ha$ been employed at Ogden. Elder Preece is called to labor in the Northern California mission. Elder Hyer, accompanied by his parents, President and Mrs. Merl Hyer, and Elder Preece accompanied by a friend, Mrs. Millie Rawlings attended the Logan temple Thursday.
