It was just lovely, said Clara Taylor, a grandmother of six students at the I school. elementary wouldnt miss it. The Plain City Singers and organ students entertained on stage in the gymnasium for about 45 minutes following the noon meal. Grandparents also had the chance to see artwork produced for the school art contest during their visit. The purpose of this is to give them closeness, school principal Dr. Larry Charlton said. I think the fact that grandparents take interest in the kids and the kids take interest in their grandparents makes this country better. It develops the kids when they get attention from their grandparents. I feel people like to go somewhere comfortable and not be hurried, Mickie said. Here, they can take their time, shop and relax. Theres not any pressure. Mickie and Kathie, both trained hair designers, just opened their boutique adjoining Mickies Hair Flair, Mickies business, two weeks ago. Mickie redesigned her hair salon to blend in with the decor of their lingerie store, and an open door between the two invites customers to use either or both facilities. Mickie and Kathie each alternate working between the salon and the boutique, trading off every other day. Weve been talking about doing this for three years, Mickie said of starting the lingerie shop. We both have always loved neat lingerie. Theres nothing like this at this end of town. Weve found a lot of people are real excited that weve opened. They say theyve waiting for something this. been like Strictly Feminine, Inc. features loungewear, swimwear, and accessories in addition to lingerie. The store also carries a line for new mothers.
