Show Sportstacular Page 20 September 27. 1979 Clearfieldl'G Hogge ttioo tfirett tor in Ssnior's golf special Delma Hogge surprised them all and perhaps even herself. Mrs. Hogge, who resides at 527 E. 300. S., Clearfield, showed how much she loves the sport of golf by finishing in a tie for first place for Senior Citizens around the state of Utah. In the recent Governors Sports Senior Citizens Competition, Mrs. Hogge shot a 77 net score to tie with two other UtAh ladies for first place in the golf portion of the competition. The golf tournament was staged at Stansbury Park in Salt Lake City with a shot gun start helping to kick off the event. For nearly five hours, Mrs. golfers Hogge and some battled the hot September heat. Mrs. Hogge is 61 years old and 70-pl- has been golfing for the past 10 -years. Later, Mrs. Hogge and her husband were invited to the Governors Conference where they were to be recognized for actheir outstanding complishment. But a grandson became very ill Just before the conference, so the trip was postponed. Riverside is the home course of both the Lakers and Roy High. Brad is the son of PGA Teaching Professional, Neil Thorton, who teaches at Riverside. Danny Allred and Bill Bateman could also make some waves in Region One golf this fall, this according to head coach. Gene Smith. So far the Lakers have defeated Sky View and lost to Gearfield by a 5211 So. 1825 W. Roy, Utah 773-503- 8 stroke.
