A With fall local Good Samatarian, Dan Swink, is taking it one step further and assisting by mowing the lawn of a close friend. Carbon High prepares for homecoming: (Continued from page 3B) are planned by the Carbon High student government, with help from the advisers and the faculty. In addition the activities during the day for students, many after school activities have been planned. Monday was the Zimbabwe Concert, where students with bands showed off cal their musi- talents. The homecoming queen assembly is slated Tuesday at 10a.m. The queen and her atten- dants will be announced Thursday. Tuesday is also Carbon High Pride Night. Members of the community are encouraged to venture out and show their support for the Dinos volleyball teams. Wednesday is powder puff football, with the seniors competing against juniors and sophomores. At dusk on Thursday, the chemistry club members will ignite a pile of wood to start Carbon High's homecoming bonfire. The Dino cheerleaders will be there with chants and the Carbon High Jazz band is providing the music. The Carbon High homecoming parade is scheduled on Friday. Step off for the event will be at 12:30 p.m. During the opening assembly, coach Troy Moynier spoke to the Carbon High student-bod- y about generating per- sonal pride and allowing that pride to spread throughout the school. The coach's speech has become the theme of the parade. The committee wants the students to have more participation in the parade so they have created Dino pride rides. Teenagers get to show off their cars and their school spirit in the parade. The student government is also urging former Carbon High School state champions to ride in the parade. Although the entire school has been preparing hard to boost the spirit for the homecoming game, it is the football team that is working the hard- est. The Dinos practice everyday after school, keeping themselves in shape and ready to face Richfield. Not only do they have practices, the football players also take an athletic training class at the high school.
