Show 6 Gunnison Voice Male To Perform for IHC Sanpete Valley award-winnin- six-ma- g, con- n temporary a cappella group that has established itself as one of the most sought after entertainment groups in the Mountain West. With exciting harmonies, contemporary arrangements, solid vocal percussion and humor. Voice Male is able to please audiences of all ages. The group will perform in a benefit concert on March 22, at Snow College. Concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds from the con- cert will go towards helping with community health needs. Voice Male's repertoire mixes popular favorites from the '50s to the '90s and includes everything from pop, rock, and jazz to country, and barbershop music. Voice Male's wide range of musical styles coupled with their endearing stage antics make for family entertainment that brings people back to hear them again and again. Voice Male began singing in the fall of 1994. The original nine members were all students at Utah State University as well as the Logan LDS Institute of Religion. In the fall of 1996 the linegroup changed to a up that continues to perform while, at the same time, allowing group members time for other pursuits. While balancing family, school and work interests. Voice Male has performed hundreds of times for school, college, church, business and community events across the West. Voice Male has also recorded six albums. Two of these albums have been awarded the top honor in a cappella music, the CARA. Voice Male's Christmas and Light in Your Eyes from their "Hooked" album was 1999 in the recognized Best Contem- porary Cover category during 2001. With these awards. Voice Male joins other CARA winners including Rockapella, The King Singers and Take Six. While Voice Male has enjoyed great success with their recorded music, this is no the secret to their success. The reason for Voice Male's increasing widespread popularity is simple people love their live concerts. It is often s concert-goer- said by Voice Male that one can't leave a Voice Male concert feel- ing anything but good. For these entertainers, nothing less would do. The members of Voice Male: Mike Bearden, his wife Jill, and their daughters Casey and Annie live in Logan, Utah, where Mike is finishing his MBA. He works as a professional graphic designer for Utah State University and does the design work for all of Voice Male's projects.
