Rubbish. The triumph of P5 would encourage other special interest groups to employ the same outrageous tactic in an attempt to secure political control on issues of taxation, religion, education and myriad others, thus opening a messy can of worms for us to constantly contend with. Further, P5 contains a crucial ambiguity which could be a cause for litigation and prima facie it conflicts with both the First and Fourteenth Amendments of the U. S. Constitution. A vote for it might be a vote to defend it in court at taxpayers two-thir- 1 scrap-bookin- g, 1 majority. The Shop With A Cop Program begins the morning of Saturday, December 5. The children who have been selected will meet with their parents at the Sheriffs Department. The children will then be chauffeured with lights flashing and sirens blasting down Richfields Main Street to McDonalds. Law enforcement from all agencies are involved. Last year several officers from outside Sevier County volunteered to transport children. McDonalds will treat the children to breakfast where celebrities such as Ronald McDonald, Smokey Bear, DumWoodsey Owl, the Crash-Temies, McGruff the Crime Doa. the mascot from Richfield High School and others will greet them. After breakfast, the children walk to the KMart parking lot where Santa Claus arrives in a helicopter. After a visit with Santa, the kids enter KMart where they are accompanied by an officer and allowed to purchase $75 worth of merchandise. Last year nearly every kid bought clothes first before they bought toys, said Sevier County Sheriff Sergeant Kim year. Sorensen.
