He will enter the MTC on November 4. Bishop Sid Curtis returned home last week. He can get up and move around a bit but has a long recovery ahead of him and we wish him the best. The baby daughter of Shane and Lana Wilcox was blessed and given the name of Carli Ann Wilcox. Grandparents of Carli are Shirley and Lewis Wilcox of Hanksville, Trudy Sorensen of Salina, and Ted Sorensen of Moab. Carli had a lot of friends and family there to help welcome her and witness her blessing. Congratulations to Jessica Barney for winn ing a attendant to M iss Sevier County. The pageant was held on July 3 . Jessica is the daughterof Vicki and Maynard Barney of Aurora and the granddaughter of Edith Durfee and the late Verr Durfee. The 1st Ward primary has a summer activity planned for August 13. It will be a swimming party held at the Salina Pool. It will begin at 7 p.m. and the kids can swim for one hour. Plan now to come. It will be lots of fun. The 1st Wards annual campout is scheduled for August 14 and 15. It will 1 1 Coll lesson, a nursery, zucchini demonstrations and recipes, and writing to the missionaries in our Ward. Broc Tatums mission farewell will be held this Sunday, August 9. Broc will serve in the Melboum West Australia Mission. He enters the MTC on August 19. Broc is the son of Steve and Tammy Tatum. Also sharing the birthday honors on the same day (July 20) was her oldest grandson, Danny Caldwell, his 33rd birthday, and Dots aunt Thora (Ross) Whittington of Salt Lake City, Utah, her 90 birthday being on July 9.. Aunt Thora as she is known, is the youngest sister of Dots mother. Family members from California, Las Vegas, Nevada and parts of Utah were there to enjoy this special event. Dot was bom on July 20, 1918 in The Cove, Sevier County, Utah to Royal and Angie R. Buchanan. She was the oldest of two children bom to Royal and Angie.
