Dad was bom August 14, 1923 on his parents farm in Christianburg, near It X - V, V Gunnison, Utah. He was the son of Ida May Wintch and Stephen Reid Voorhees. On September 10. 1945. Dad married our Mom. Laura Eveline Hatch in the Manti Temple. He worked as an accountant for Mountain Fuel Supply Company for 32 years. He was a High Priest in the Little Cottonwood 9th Ward where he served as Ward Clerk under five bishops and as High Priest Group Leader. Dad and Mom served an LDS mission to Frankfurt, Ger- ; i l. ' Horned owl family found home at Cove Fort He also enjoyed serving many as a veil worker in the Jordan River 1981-8- Rebecca Ann Russell Our beloved daughter and mother, Rebecca Ann (Becky) Russell, 24, passed away May 12, 1998 in Provo, Utah. She was bom December 4, 1973 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Carol Ann (Mickelsen) Russell and the late Dick R. Russell. She is survived by mother, Carol Ann; two daughters, Nakeesha Ann Russell, age 4; Makenzie Lynn, age 3; sister, Gina Dawn Russell; brother, Cade Clifford Russell, all of Redmond. She was preceded in death by her father, Dick R. Russell and grandfathers, Clifford Peter Mickelsen and Loral Russell. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 16 at the Redmond First Ward Chapel. On Tuesday afternoon, the Axtell Post Office was vandalized and several mail boxes were broken into and the mail stolen from the boxes. I hope they pay all the bills that were sure to be in most of the mail boxes. Friday morning was the annual Gunnison Valley Elementary May Day program. Every class did some neat dances and the costumes were great. This is a big day for the children. In many years past the production was held outside at the Elementary School, but due to more children and the new May weather, we have had the past years inside at the High School. Lets make sure that we watch for children playing and not watching for cars as we drive on our daily routines. Congratulations to the GVHS Baseball Team as Region 12 Tim Sanders is a player on this team.
