She is the daughter of Neal and Dana Coates of Aurora. Cole Anderson, son of Deslie and Vickie Andreason, has earned a berth in this years Junior Olympic meet sched7 uled for July in Chicago, Illinois. Cole, a 9 year old Champ, qualified by placing first in sparring competition for 9-year old Black Belts during State Finals action staged April 16 at Salt Lake Community Colleges South City Campus. Competitors from Idaho, Nebraska, Wyoming, Arizona and Canada, as well as Utah, took part. . Cole and his family now reside in Bennion. He trains under Master Kim and Kims Academy of in Salt Lake. Sevier County Centennial Committee to remove junk cars from citizens properties at no charge. The competition will be held in June and the cost is approximately $1 ,000.00 per stduent. The students have various fund raisers planned in hopes of raising enough money for these taleneted students to attend. Girls Day was held at the High School on Wednesday. It was a special day for the high school girls and their mothers. The theme was weddings through the decades. Wedding dresses were modeled as well as this years Jr. Prom formals, a lovely light luncheon was held after. Also on Wednesday the high school Girls Softball Team traveled to Monroe for a play off with Beaver to see who would be able to go to Morgan for the first round of state. The Wolf Women proved to be the better of the two teams. Thursday morning they went to Morgan to play the first place Morgan team. The girls played hard but were defeated and hung up their cleats until next year. Salina Youth Council set May Dance on May 13 The Salina City Youth Council will hold their May Dance on Friday, May 13, 1994 from 8:00 to 12:00 midnight at the Salina Legion Hall. The cost for the dance is $3.00 for singles and $5.00 for couples. This dance is for ages 13 to 19. Richard and Phyllis Cowley were in Idaho Falls Friday and Saturday to attend the wedding of Richards brother Julian. They were accompanied by Charles and Celia Cowley of Venice. Brett Heath and Bryan Newkirk went to Cedar City last Tuesday for a Shop competition. Brett Heath and Logan Cowley were in St. George Thursday for band competition. The Centerfield- - Axtell Cub Scout Pack 562 received the Sandpitch Arrow Award at the District Recognition Banquet. This is for the best pack in the district of which there are 32 packs. At pack meeting held April 27 an Olympics was held. Steven Heath and James and Cole Fullmer, Derek Steiger, Whit Sorenson and Randy Newman all earned their beltloops. Sandra and Katie Health and Sheryl and Latitia Stieger attended the pack meeting also. Corey Sampson, granddaughter of Bemitta Mecham, who is on the Ladys Badgers fast pitch softball team took first place and will play in a tournament in Kansas City this month.
