Show Pare Eight SOUTH LIONS HOLD MEETING The monthly meeting of the Hy-ruLions Club was held Wednesday, February 7, at the South Cache High school. A fine dinner was conenjoyed and entertainment sisted of xylophone music during the meal with two talks after dinner by Wesley Nielsen, recently returned from Farragut, and a Lt. Clayton of Bushnell hospital. ihe meeting was presided over bv President Frank Dusenberry. There were 45 present including applicants for membership as follows: Dewey H. Nielsen, Branch Manager of the State Tax Commission, Hrt'man Forsberg, wholesale meat dealer, Duwayne Eliason of Dicks Modern Market, Elroy Nielsen County Road Supervisor, Willarc Petersen, sheepman. Irvin Hall, farmer and cattleman, Reid Bickmore of E. M. Bickmcire and Sons mill, Kenneth Henderson, supervisor at Logan Cache Knitting Mills, Rulon Wright, farmer, Gilbert McDowell South Cache Courier, John W. Jorgensen, mayor, Wm. S. Baxter, farmer, and A. J. Petersen, game warden. The next meeting will be held on the first Wednesday of March when the applicants will be inducted and the Lions ladies will be special guests. m February 9, 1945 CACHE COURIER CYNTHIA BENSON CAMP TO' MEET On Thursday, February 15 at 2:30 p. m. the Cynthia Benson camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers will be entertained at the home of Mrs. Grover Christensen. Mrs. Kenneth Henderson will present the lesson on Rugged Men of the West. Special musical numbers are being arranged by Mrs. Victor Jensen. Hostesses for the occasion are Mrs. John A, Israelsen, Mrs. and Mrs. James G. Christensen Grover Christensen. TIN CAN SALVAGE DRIVE A competition between the different classes in the Lincoln school with pnzas for the class that brings! in the greatest amout of t n can salvage was announced by Mrs. E. J. Wilson, Jr. and Clifford Struffer who are in charge of the drive. The prizes are being furnished by Mrs. Wilson who is contribut ng $5.00 and the Hyrum Drug which is giving $10.00. Statewide prizes also are being offered which consist of war bords. in the amount of $100 for the school which wins and two $50.00 prizes for second and The Boy Scouts of the First ward third. Utah State Agricultural College, states J. Whitney Floyd, forester of the USAC Extension Service. These trees must be planted on farm land in Utah for wood lot, windbreak or purposes only. A price list of varieties is now available from the school of forestry, and may be obtained at any time.
