This year it gives the merchants a three day celebration or anyway they are going to have a three day rest. This day is when the people travel to neighboring towns to enjoy themselves or else go into the canyons for a nice cool rest,, where they can fish and eat till their hearts content. He is a member of the board of directors and of the executive committee of the Cache Valley Banking company in Logan. During the current county administration, a total of 131 roads in the county have been graveled, over 96,000 yards of gravel distributed, eight new bridges constructed, scores of new culverts installed, and other road building activities completed. The county commission recently let a contract for oiling seven and one-ha- lf mils of county road oiling that will take place in July of this year, Mr. Fuhriman said. In conclusion, he stated that he favors a financial policy that will keep the county debt-fre; ar Gates of America a special fire works pageant will be presented in the USAC stadium at Logan as the main attraction for the Fourth of July celebration. The pageant will be presented by Prof. W. H. Manning of the College. The script was written by Prof. Moyle Q. Rice also of the College. One thousand people will participate including a mixed chorus of 500 voices. It is the largest production of its kind ever to be staged in the stadium The theme of the pageant is to show how the gates of America have opened in the past to all the free loving peoples of the world who desired to come here for more freedom and to better their circumstances. Also td show what contributions these peoples have given to America in return and who at the present time are giving their sons and daughters and making sacrifices to help maintain that freedom in the world struggle that is before us. The various episodes are protrayed in dance, song and music. The readings will come over the public address system and the band accompaniments will be played by the band. South Cache High School Each episode will be introduced by large flash bomb shells and star shells and at the close of the pageant will be a wonderful display of fire works to climax the program. The South Cache Band will play a concert at 7:00 p. m. The gates will open at 7:30 p. m. and the pageant will commence at 8:30 p. m. A fine patriotic meeting will be conducted in the Logan Tabernacle at 2 p. m. with Colonel H. Arnold Rich of Salt Lake City as the speaker. Some exceptional musical numbers will be presented by service men from Hill Field at Ogden. The children sports will take place on the east side of the tabernacle square at 2:30 p. m. Many free prizes in cash and merchandise will be given away. A unique feature of the sports will be a fish scramble in the gutter on the east side of the square where a temporary pond will be made. One hundred fish will be turned loose and the boys under 12 years will make a scramble. In addition to the fish caught by the boys prizes, will be given 'for the best and quickest catches. Boys who participate should come with their bathing suits under their regular clothes so quick changes can be made. This event is under the direction of the Logan Wild Life Federation. At 3:30 p. m. there will be a musical program featuring Alaki Ike and Hap in front of the tabernacle building. , The large midway will be in, full operation on the Junior High khool grounds. There will be swiming at the Logana, dances at the Dansante Monday and Tuesday evenings and special shows at all the theatres. All members of the South Cache High School Band should use the south gate when entering the stadium.
