at 2 am jane wife of wm J lewis MRS ANN GREGORY MARRIOTT on thursday oct 6 ait the age of 74 years mrs ann gregory marriott Marr lott passed peacefully away after suffering for or about five years with partial paralysis she was born in ettori ln in ash fied nottinghamshire Notting hamshire england february 11 1824 and when ec a child emigrated with her parents to canada she returned to england when about twenty years year of age where she married mr george marriott on april 2 1849 she joined the mormon church in 1850 and always had an open hand f for or the cause for six years she kept an open house tor for all elders and then for four years kept the conference house at not it ting ingham tiam in 1866 accompanied by her hilsmand hils bUs band and daughter she came to utah where she has wallace damron who dud died at thatcher graham county ariz on sunday october 2 1898 of general debility atter after an illness of eleven days was a a son of john and sarah shultz damron and was born in weekley faunty tennessee march 23 1833 at an early age his parents moved to tex AOL 96 where he resided until 1856 brother davison was baptized in january 1856 by elder ben L clapp fand soon atter after emigrated to salt lake city utah where he engaged in farming ar m and teaching school having been een raised in the south he be was never satis fled with a northern climate he emis grated to arizona arriving at pima on november 25 20 1883 when the valley was but a desert wilderness since his arrival he engaged in farming merchandising and teaching school be sides holding a number ot of public offices the duties of which he faithfully and satisfactorily discharged for ten years he held the position of post i master of thatcher he was elected county treasurer in 1888 1889 and again in he was elected probate judge in 1892 and again in 1896 which position he occupied at the time of his bis death andels and his name appears upon the democratic ticket as the regular nominee for the same office at the coming election brother damron was married in 1851 to hester heater elizabeth ray bay af pf fillmore millard county utah eleven children have blessed this union of whom nine are living to comfort and console the mother in her hour of trial brother damron has been a faithful and earnest worker in the cause of our religion and passed away beloved by all both rich and poor of the last it may be said he followed the divine teaching ask and ye ph shall all receive and many a family has reason to rise and bless his name the funeral services took place at the academy in the exodus from the ill fated city came to utah in 1852 located at south willow creek now draper jn in the year 1862 1892 was called to assist in strengthening southern utah located at st george in I n 1868 father terry departed this life the family was counselled counseller coun selled to return home to fco draper mother terry in her lonely and sorrowing condi condit blon loo now faced the storm of life with unwavering faith and vy by the aid of her two sons joseph and franklin battled with the cares of life to maintain the young family left on her hands the latter part of her life has been one of great suffering and for the last three years her eldest son joseph had the sole care of his mother and during that time has done all that man could do to make her declining years as comfortable for table as possible it so occurred that her son franklin Pr anklin was with her alone at her dying hour her speech had been poor but at this time aid was given her then she called him to her prank frank my son I 1 have a charge for you when I 1 am gone call my children around me and deliver the message to them I 1 now give you after her body was dressed and placed in the coffin brother franklin said 1 I have a charge laid upon me to deliver I 1 wish you to stand around mother in your order the oldest first and so on I 1 will then tell you what mother mid to roe me fjor br she told met me to
