at my home viz wm crosby of kandib kane county utah and david smith of logan cache county utah and while conversing with them they informed me that they were acquainted with people of my name in m that state many years ago my grandfather left the state of illinois taking with him two sons I 1 believe the fathers name was nicholas for many years I 1 have been very anxious to learn of their whereabouts but thus far have been unable to do so if people of at said name in utah would write to me regarding the matter it would be very much appreciated leaving illinois near shawneetown Shawnee conveying the news that his wife had just died A peculiar andl dent of the sad affair was thea chait later in the day mr judd received a letter from his wife no particulars as to the cause of mrs judds death were received her husband is greatly shocked as when he left home mrs judd was apparently well mr judd has returned home he has the sym panthy of many staunch friends in his sad aad bereavement about two weeks ago a young child of robert roden residing at mill creek swallowed a spire of grass known as fox foxtail tall which got into the windpipe and annoyed the child very much cavalry regiment headed a big military pro cession at that place in which fold lern participated the torrey rough riders constituted the only cavalry regiment at jacksonville and they are the constant recipients of much attention the utah troop the members of which are all in splendid health coming in for a goodly share of commendation for their fine appearance and soldierly bearing troop I 1 the
