Show RETURNED missionaries the news had a pleasant call thursday afternoon from elder chas A parrish of centerville center Cent erville vine davis county who returned on the dinst fron from a mission to the southern states elder parrish left home march 2 1896 and on arriving at the mission headquarters was assigned to the mississippi conference where he labored for two years with much success making many friends and promulgating the principles of the gospel he enjoyed his labors very much and had good health during his entire ab absence seno after being released he visited relatives in illinois where he gathered gene data and preached the gospel returning he surveyed survey edthe the omaha exposition and found utah and utah people very well represented elder J D hagman hagman of the twenty second ward this city called at the news office and reported haa hl return from a mission to scandinavia ile he left home april 11 1896 and labored in the southern part of sweden the whole ole of the time the latter portion as clerk of the malmo conference in which there have recently been numer ous accessions to the church the conference he says is in a most flour ashing condition j elder andrew smith jr of the thir third ward this city called on the news e reporting his return from the mission lost ott field elder smith left aug 11 1 1898 95 and arrived home again june 23 after laboring for upwards of years in australia and new ze zealand J during the first six months of his bib sence elder smith labored as aa a travel trav elx A ing elder in tasmania then he waa appointed to preside over the conferee confer conference ex which position he ailed for one ye year atter after which he was transferred to tio tact i presidency of the me new south conference with headquarters at tt sj ney and on sept 27 1896 he rew word that the australasian mission 4 had been divided and that he had been appointed to preside over that portion to be known as the new zealand mi mission s elder smith remained until released he reports things generally in good condition and says the way ib being opened up for the spread of the gospel and that prejudice is fast being allayed the elders says he are in the enjoyment osgood of good health despite the sultry climate and on the whole the mission is prospering elder frank H cutler of glendale kane county has returned to utah from a mission which he commenced june 1st ast 1895 to florida alabama and georgia the work of the elders has been attended with very satisfactory success the there re of late elder cutler presided over the florida conference during the last eighteen months elder john clayson of payson utah returned home on the dinst from a mission tl tb australia upon which he entered july 7 1895 the work of mormon missionaries in the section where he be labored is meeting with marked success elder horace W barton of the twenty first ward this city returned from the mission field thursday june elder barton left home july 11 1895 and first firs t labored in district fifteen months then was as Y assigned signed ae to victoria australia doing i service in melbourne for a period of thirteen ecce en months he was atter afterwards wards can called ed to Ball aratt ve t where he labored until released be reports the work progressing slowly in that country the way being gradually opened up for me accomplishment of much good he had fairly good health while away and n joyed his labors in the ministry |
