temperature of the week before the weather continuing excessively warm the daily excess of temperature above the average was five dee degrees rees there was more cloudiness r and threatening weather last week with no more rain than occurred in the t weeks previous being insufficient to aid the growth gro ot of vegetation there were some storms in the mountains which furnished rainfall sufficient to well swell the streams in some sections and brewed advantageous for irrigation purposes fur Our poses owing wing to the continued drouth there has boa been a rapid maturing of all crops smear beets garden vegetables potatoes ta and lucern could still be benefited 19 by a good rain continued dry weather WEI m materially lessen the yield of potatoes aind practically prevent the har veat of the third crop ot of lucern which ihas already suffered from burning paa ff mers Ermers are busy stacking grain since jnoes of the crop has been harvested AU all the threshers thre are working vigor abaly and making good progress yields show a fair average considering the entire crop fall grain being smove above and late sown spring grain being below the average as a rule there are an abundance of peaches plums and apples the quality of the same being fair apples show more injuries vegetables and melons are am abundant the yield of honey is above the average the week closes with a prospect for
