the court system But very few of Stewart’s cases are as salacious as all that The other sanctions ordered during the year were for lolations of judicial canons such as improper “ex parte” communications meaning a judge talked with one party in a case without the other being present Other violations were largely for improper public comments such as criticizing a jury’s decision Such fare may not be the most exciting to the general public but Stewart finds it all fascinating “It’s a very focused area of the law” he said “Very interesting ethical issues Very interesting The state
