as improper “ex parte” communications meaning a judge talked with one party in a case without the other being present Other violations were largely for improper public comments such as criticizing a jury’s decision Such fare may not be the most exciting to the general public but Stewart finds it all fascinating “It’s a very focused area of the law” he said “Very interesting ethical issues Very
