Show ELDER HUBBARDS REPORT CEDAR CREEK tennessee november 2nd and 1896 I 1 lett left your city on on the irth of april 1895 and on arriving in chattanooga was assigned to labor in the east tennessee conference I 1 first entered the county of roane and helped to canvass that county a lew few friends were made there then on the of december I 1 started for buncombe county north norih carolina to open up the labor there we found some sections of that county very friendly and succeeded in holding quite a number of meetings much prejudice re judice was removed and some new I 1 friends rr were made about the of august 1896 we started Cheroke for county to conference where we met twenty of our co laborers for three days we enjoyed a spiritual feast with our beloved president kirn kim ball during which time we determined to travel more strictly without money than ever before acting upon this resolve we all started out to our various fields of labor with renewed determination to prove the lord I 1 was assigned to enter greene county as to hold meetings our instructions were to preach everywhere so we began on the court house corner coffier in greenville a town of inhabitants it was the hardest effort of my life since then we have preached under various circumstances in private and public houses at molasses mills mill in front of churches from which we had been excluded at political gatherings etc and at last wi we found two neighborhoods where the gospel was a welcome visitor in company with elder J P aydelotte a new arrival in the field I 1 have held a good series of meetings in each place makin making many friends and arousing considerate consi considerable deraMe interest in the glorious principles of life and salvation and still our preaching is in demand so we will endeavor to carry on the good work we expect a harvest here we find that the lord is abundantly able and willing to bless and prosper the labors of his servants when they keep his commandments and put their trust in him through neglect I 1 have been without your valuable paper since I 1 have been in this county please send it to me I 1 remain JAMES W HUBBARD |
