was a member of the Clearfield 3rd LDS Ward where he was an elder He had worked at the Woods Cross Cannery for 45 years He had been fire chief for the Clearfield City Fire Department for 39 years He was a member of the Clearfield Volunteer Fire Department for 46 years He helped establish a modern fire department for Clearfield which serves the surrounding cities He was pahially responsible for the new fire station He received Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award in 1973 from Clearfield City Surviving are his widow of Clearfield three sons and one daughter Richard Elmo Hodson Midland Mich
