M. on Tuesday, September -- 7, 1955, for the purchase of its General Obligation Bonds, to the amount of $730,000, which bonds are part of a voted authorization of $2,100,000 General Obligation Bonds of like nature, none of which have been heretofore issued. It is expected by the district that the second block of bonds will not be offered until after February, 195G. Sep- FISH GAME & Confiscated fishing and hunting equipment will be offered for sale during the annual public auction to be held this year on Saturday, Sep- tember 17, according to the Utah Department of Fish and Game. The Department said the sale will be conducted in the Senate Chambers of the State Capitol Building beginning at 10:00 a. m. and continue until all items are sold. this year than during the 1931 application period, as shown in figures released from Department of Fish and Game offices today. The figures show 13,5K1 applications for 1,175 elk permits authorized by the Utah Board of Big Game Control for the 1951 seasons. This year, 10,339 applications were received for the 1,150 permits allotted by the Board. Most heavily applied units were the South Cache and Salt Lake districts either sex hunts. Success chances for gaining a permit at the annual public drawings held in the Capitol Building September 2, were one in sixteen and one in fifteen, respectively, on these two hunting areas. Permits to successful applicants and return of fees to those who were unsuccessful at the drawings this year have all been mailed from Department offices and should be in the hands of applicants within the week. Equipment this year includes fishing tackle, field glasses, rifles, and shotguns confiscated by the courts because of illegal use in the pursuit of andor taking of fish and game. Each item will be offered for sale individually and will go to the highest bidder. Increasing interest in the annual archery deer season is shown in the increased number of permits sold for this hunt this year. Total sales to date are 14S2 permits. This is a decided increase compared to the 777 such permits purchased during 1951. The department reminded sportsmen that anyone holding a regular big game or combination fishing and hunting license is eligible to purchase a special archery permit to hunt deer during this season. Principal and interest will be payable at such bank or banks as may be agreed upon between the purchaser and the district following the sale. The bonds will be awarded to the responsible bidder whose bid results in the lowest net interest cost to the district figured to maturity from the first day of the month following the date of sale, after deduction of premium, if any. No bid for less than par and accrued interest will be considered and each bidder is asked to state in his bid or submit with his bid a tabulation showing his computation of such net interest cost, together with the net effective interest rate. The bonds are full general obligations of the district payable from taxes to be levied without limitation as to rate or amount. The district may apply additional revenues when available to the payment of these bonds. A certified or cashiers check in the amount of $10,009 drawn upon an incorporated bank or trust company and payable to the order of the district must accompany each bid as a guarantee of good faith on the part of the bidder, which check will be forfeited as liquidated damages if such bid is accepted and the bidder fails to take up and pay for the bonds when tendered. The approving legal opinion of Chapman and Cutler will be furnished the successful bidder without cost to him and all bids shall be so conditioned. The bonds are being issued for the purpose of paying the cost of the construction of the first portion of the districts sewer system. The bonds will be delivered in Salt Lake City, Utah. Delivery elsewhere is to be at the purchasers expense. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids. Envelopes containing the bids should be plainly marked Proposal for Bonds.
