We are going to try to equal your record. I hope we can do so. LET ME SAY JUST BRIEFLY TO THOSE AMERICAN PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE THAT WE SHOULD NOT BUY SAVINGS BONDS THAT I THINK THEY ARE 100 PER CENT WRONG. If you feel that in the buying of these bonds you are participating in waste in government, I disagree with you. You will never stop waste in government by refusing to buy bonds. If you dont want waste in government, then take it up with your public officials. THE POOREST THING YOU CAN DO IS REFUSE TO BUY BONDS Its our patriotic duty, itd our American duty, and certainly we owe some kind of a duty to the boys we have sent to Korea. The least we can do is hold on to the old American tradition of trying to keep a sound financial country. THE ONE WAY WE CAN DO TO INVEST IN THESE SAVINGS BONDS, AND I FEEL THAT NONE OF US CAN SAY TILAT WE ARE REALLY AMERICAN PATRIOTS UNTIL WE ARE WILLING TO PUT ALL WE CAN AFFORD INTO THAT TYPE OF INVESTMENT. I personally compliment each and every one of you who has participated, and I make a plea to the rest of you that you do so if you possibly can. Thank you.
