Oaks, President of Brigham Young University, will be the speaker at a fireside to be held in the Moroni Stake Center tonight, March 2 at 7 p.m. The fireside will be sponsored by the BYU Alumni Association. Moroni Stake President M. John Ramsay will conduct the meeting. Music will be provided by the Ephraim Institute LD Singers. The coveted awards were presented to the boys during Scout banquets held in their respective wards. Matt Francks and Jetf Breinholt received their awards at the Ephraim Second Ward banquet held Februarv 23. Scoutmaster Don Thompson presented the awards to the bov . Jeff is also interested in communications and is considering it as a career input. The most satisfying service project was when Jeff organized a group of scouts and together they helped to clean up the Old Mill in Ephraim as part of its restoration. Camping trips have also been a highlight in Jeff s scouting experience. Recently, Jeff was one of the featured speakers in a sacrament meeting on Scout Sundav where he told of some of his favorite times in scouting. Sue Ann and LaVar Francks are the proud parents of Eagle Scout Mathew J. Francks. Matt has been an enthusiastic scouter from the start. He is now serving as a Patrol Leader in the Ephraim Second Ward. Beautification of the Ephraim Pioneer Cemetery was the service project that qualified him for his Eagle. Matt's favorite merit badges included Camping, Hiking, and Animal Science. Matt is interested in Poultry Science as a livelihood. Special guests present to share the excitement were Mathews brothers and sisters, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John V. Francks, and Mr. Scoff Findlay Receives and Mrs. Donald Faatz. Matt says of his Eagle Award, I have learned a lot while working toward being an Eagle. This is an important step in becoming what I want to be in life. It is about the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me. Shaun Daniels is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Daniels. His service project was helping ten other Scouts refinish the hand rails in the chapel. This involved sanding and revarnishing the rails. Shaun very much enjoyed working for his Aviation merit badge. The requirements involved some flying experiences with Lyle Wilkinson, which Shaun enjoyed greatly, Camping and hiking are also favorite hobbies of Shaun. Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Jorgen- sen, Shauns grandparents, were present for the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Daniels are proud of their Eagle Scout son, Shaun.
