Show Ephraim Girls Staters Named Four girls and one alternate were selected to attend Girls' State by American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 108 of Ephraim. The group met Thursday, March 14th at the club rooms and made President Enid selections. Adams presided at the meeting. The girls selected by a panel of judges were: Tena Black (G. Stanley Black), Paula Lee (Glen W. Lee), Terri Jean Daniels (Mont Daniels), and Janeen Olsen (Clyde R. Olsen). Julane Russel (Austin Russel) was chosen as alternate. The 28th session of the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State will be held June 8, 1974 at Southern Utah State College, Cedar City, Utah. The objective of this program remains the same. Delegates are sent to learn how and what democracy is and how it functions. Girls 'State is a practical application of Americanism. It is hoped that the girls will cultivate a desire to follow in the paths of opportunity and Priests Take Mothers to Dinner understand the real responsibility of true citizenship. The priests of the Manti Utah Stake took their mothers to Ephraim Tuesday night for a special evening which included dinner and a special program. Over 150 young Aaronic Priesthood holders and their mothers were served a roast beef dinner at the 7 p.m. event. The meal was followed by a program. Welcoming the priests their mothers to the social and was Jacobson (Rawlin, Ephraim). Playing prelude and postlude music was Jeff Moore (Blaine, Ephraim). Prayers were given by David Green (Alvin, Ephraim) and Mark Stoddard (Bob, Ephraim). Vocal selections were rendered by Bob McCaul of Ephraim. The stake presidency and wives also participated in the event. The special evening was planned by the priest group leaders and priest quorum advisers from around the stake. The group leaders are: Rex Goodwin (Glen) Manti North Ward; Bryce Anderson (Donell), Manti Center Ward; Paul Stahle (Larry), Manti South Ward; Mark Stoddard (Bob), Ephraim South Ward; Don Jacobson (Rawlin), Ephraim North Ward; David Green (Alvin), Ephraim West Shop at Home Ward.
