Completion of the training is required to qualify persons to man the ambulance for emergency service. "Manti is in pretty good shape, as for as qualified personnel are concerned, Steck said. But were hurting in We course encourage Manti of Ephraim. people to enroll, but we are particularly anxious that a goodly number of Ephraim people enroll. Tuition to the course is underwritten by the city with the understanding that the trainee pay the tuition if he does not complete a prescribed tour of duty" with the ambulance. Snow College conducts the training with qualified instructors being drawn from surrounding areas. Interested applicants should contact either Jack Steck or Darlene Anderson, both Ephraim, for application forms. Jack Ephraim-Man- Steck, ti Sterling According to Reed Hatch, fair board treasurer, the horse race receipts the first afternoon were about S530 and around $845 the second afternoon. About $1 ,130 was taken in at the rodeo the first night and $1,850 the second. Overall, according to Mr. Hatch, receipts were down about $2,000. In the case of both the races and the rodeo, receipts didnt come near to covering the costs. The fair book about paid for itself from advertising revenue and the race programs lost money. Another depressing financial note: rodeo producer Dell Haslam, who got $4,500 this year, wants about $1,000 more to come back to the Sanpete County Fair in 1981. The Finlinson carnival, on the other hand, was pleased with its receipts, $2,300, of which the county got 10 percent, and would probably return next year with more concessions, Mr. Hatch said. The fair board distributed about $3,700 in cash to exhibitors, along with hundreds of blue, red and white ribbons. The county budgetted $14,000 for the fair. The money is used not only to help finance fair activities, but also for improvements at the fairgrounds like new fencing, repairs and maintenance. Wecant just think of the expense in connection with the fair," one county official said. "Its an event that many people look forward to. It gives recognition to a lot of deserving people. Its educational and it provides a great deal of wholesome entertainment. Whats more American than the county fair?" d c Flavor-Rit- e Price's Merc.
