Responses are provided by Sanpete County Sheriff Keaaard Anderson byPatMellor Q. Will the COMSAN dispatchers also serve as jailers? A. The COMSAN dispatchers will not serve as police or jailers. The dispatch service will, however, be located in the sheriffs office and therefore with a dispatch service present, this means someone will be in the sheriffs office at all times, able to summon aid 24-ho- aad COMSAN chairman Gene Williams. Readers are invited to submit questions to: COMSAN Messenger-Enterpris- e Manti, Utah 84642 immediately should problems arise in the jail facility. We have had instances in which police have transported prisoners to other jails in Richfield or Juab rather than keep a prisoner locked in the Sanpete County facility, knowing that the jail is unattended at night. However, the COMSAN dispatchers will not serve as jailers or as police. Q. What is the point in replacing present systems of reporting fires or accidents with this one? replace the present systems each town has.
