Now the Utah State Office of Education will allocate each schools portion of the approximately Two million of the district share of trust lands money. This is one time that each school can designate exactly how they want to spend the dollars so it is very important that the LAND Trust money is never just put in the general budget as some have wanted. Board members are also considering naming the Mill Hollow Lodge for Dr. Ronald Beckstrom who is considered the father of the center. He had strong ties to our district and community. His granddaughter Annie Griffith was Miss West Valley City several years ago. As the year approaches its end, please be extremely careful in the school zones. Some of our young people are so excited to have the warm weather; they forget to follow safety rules. Also, with the change in climate, clothing attire needs to be appropriate. Title I paraprofessional at West Kearns Elementary and the Diva Matriarch of the Red Hattitudes gals. They attended a very special engagement of Giraffes Can Dance at the Rose Wagner Theatre on April 27. The opera was presented by the special education children at West Kearns Elementary. It was an amazing redition of the call of the animal clan, dancing and singing. The teachers are to be commended for their work with the children. My heart just bursts with pride that I have come to know each and everyone of the children during my work at West Kearns Elementary. They all call me their friend, BOOM, and give me a high five when they see me in the halls or out on the playground. One little guy came up to me in the hallway at school and said, My Daddy says to say thank you for the flowers. The above captioned people gave the children a flower after their performance. The children performed for the Kearns Senior Center on May 12. It had been two weeks since the performance at Rose Wagner Theatre and they didnt miss a cue, beat or a note. I have seen the performance three times, and I am so proud of each child. We had a picnic on the lawn after the performance at KSC.
