Johnson Jr. Highs and Lows Instructional Game Style: ; Most pros as written in sever- - al publications say that they play f only 25 percent of their hands, f and that may be true, but one ; thing that is true is that there are times when you may be faced with getting several low to middle cards when playing the game. I call this a low run and it can last from just a few hands to all day, while at other times you may get high cards in a high run situation and in a high run situation most players who are good take advantage of it and think they just had an incredible run of good luck during the game whether it be a tournament or single table game. If looked at closely however a low run can produce the same results if the player is willing to actually play the low cards and to know when to lay the had down when he or she is confident they are beaten, but also not throwing away a huge amount of chips into the pot until a desired result is obtained either during the flop, turn or river, so that if a player in position in front of you makes a large raise and you dont have the results you wanted you can muck your cards and losget out of the game without if a same the and ing many chips behind a in you position player mike the same raise, unless you actually decide to bluff that player by going over the top with a raise of your own (check raise) or going all in. One of the things that makes a player decide if he or she wants to stay in the game and play their cards is something called pot odds. They are basically takes the amount of chips in the game and the number of players and with that calculation and the winning percentage of the hand creates the deciding factor if he or she is in or out, but as a player (Joey Golden) at Club 90 likes to say, There is no pot odds before the flop. Another friend of his disputes that assertion. Differences of opinion like this is what makes the game that it Texas hold-Em is. I am decidedly in the camp of no pot odds for the reason that depending on the amount of the raise or if there were just calls of the big blind on the table any cards of the nine players are potential winning hands. As the game isnt won on just the first two cards dealt What effect the game is the amount of the initial raise and the potential caller with low cards who might lose when all the cards are dealt The fact is that the more players that are in the hand before the flop reduces the effectiveness. No matter the amount of chips that are placed in the pot. So a normal raise of three times the big blind in an attempt to get players with weak hands to muck their cards is one effective tool to winning the pot, but I also believe that this tactic puts that player at a disadvantage because usually it is with high cards they are making the raise with knowing that, if you have low cards and make the call you are basically saying to the raising player that you have high cards. Otherwise, to him you wouldnt be in the hand so when you a set of low cards come out on the flop you can actually have a huge advantage over him if you happen to hit two pair or get a low straight and in making a huge raise at this point It would actually confuse the other players) and would cause them to either think that you are bluffing or they would call for not just knowing what to do. Another (low) is when you have good cards but keep getting beat this can also last several hands to days and even weeks. This in turn can lead one to believe that they are playing badly or are making mistakes. They are costing them the win, but that is not true. A player should continue to play his or her game the way they want because eventually the game Team Officially Out Of Vacation Time After 10 days off, the Grizzlies return to ice hosting Wednesday Alaska. I, .think the .fright jyard a hunter education instructor receives is the knowledge that theyve had a positive impact on the life of a young hunter, Bearnson said. The information in the course is very positive and ethics and safety oriented. The knowledge that the instructor has played a role in teaching a young hunter those things, you cant put a price tag on that. Bearnson also said that instructors are doing much to further the sport of hunting. Responsibility and ethics are taught throughout the course, and being able to tie everything thats taught in the course back to ones ethical conduct is very, very important, he said.
