West Valley City has provided a number of opportunities to do this. In addition to weekly West garbage collection. Valley City provides bulky waste and dumpster roll-oprograms. As a council, we encourage West Valley City residents to utilize these programs and keep the city ff The bulky waste program gives residents an easy way to get rid of the large items that dont fit in the regular containers. garbage pick-uThis service is provided in your area once a month. Please DO NOT put bulky waste items out more than ONE DAY prior to scheduled pickup. Rules that apply to bulky waste collection include the following: Boxes must be or smaller; bundles and limbs must be less than 18 inches in diameter, less that 5 feet long, and less than p 30-gall- 75 pounds: appliances must not contain FREON. The dumpster roll-oprohave allows residents to gram a large container placed in their area so that neighbors can trim trees, clean up yards, and clean out garages and basements. West Valley City has 20 containers that can be placed throughout the City. Each year more than 1.200 loads of waste from our neighborhoods are taken to the landfill for our residents. On May 26, the West Valley Police Honorary Colonels Association hosted die annual School Crossing Guard Awards Banquet, recognizing die individuals who provide a safe route to and from school. Awards were given to crossing guards, school safety patrols, and volunteers for outstanding service. Kathleen Duran is die first West Valley City school crossing guard to complete 20 years of service. To alleviate this problem. West Valley City has initiated the Accelerated Concrete Repair Program. If approved in advance, residents may have their sidewalks repaired by a licensed concrete contractor. After inspection, the City will reimburse the property owner $10 per linear foot of sidewalk replaced. A permit will be issued to die contractor. This program will greatly expedite sidewalk repairs throughout the City and provide our school children and other pedestrians a safe place to walk.
